Roux Institute

The Roux Institute project was a large-scale design communication effort supporting CambridgeSeven and Planeta Design Group in visualizing the Institute’s new campus spaces. Tangram 3DS was tasked with creating compelling visuals that conveyed architectural design intent, helped secure executive approvals, and aligned with marketing needs.
  • Communicate design intent to Northeastern leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support fast-paced decision making with multiple options.
  • Ensure renderings could transition seamlessly into public-facing marketing once approved.
  • 28-page sales brochure with custom renderings, floor plans, and branding assets
  • Drone + rendering integration for authentic visuals
  • One toolkit for developers, brokers, and architects to market and sell confidently
  • Tight timelines driven by Northeastern’s President’s schedule for presentations
  • Iterative design changes (feature wall finishes, gradient color choices, reception desk adjustments, carpet color changes) required rapid turnaround
  • Approval restrictions: renderings could not be shared publicly until Northeastern authorized release
  • Frequent email and design review loops between Tangram 3DS, Cambridge Seven, and Planeta Design Group.
  • Rapid production cycles: initial “white box” camera angle studies, followed by detailed materials, finishes, and populated views.
  • Flexibility in deliverables: alternate versions provided to accommodate evolving design preferences.

Tangram partnered with the developer, broker, and architects to:

  • Blend drone photography with photoreal renderings for true-to-life perspectives
  • Design a branded, 28-page brochure showcasing layouts, finishes, and lifestyle imagery
  • Deliver floor plans, maps, and design assets for use across web, print, and sales meetings
  • Renderings were used directly in high-level presentations with Northeastern leadership
  • Client described images as “stunning” and praised Tangram’s ability to deliver under pressure
  • Visuals are slated for future marketing release once approved by Northeastern, extending their impact beyond internal decision making
  • Building in flexible time for multiple iterations is essential when final approvals hinge on leadership availability.
  • Offering both option sets and alternate views builds client confidence.
  • Early and clear agreements on public release policies prevent missteps in marketing.

Working with Tangram 3DS on the Roux Institute project was a pleasure. Their team communicated clearly and collaborated effectively throughout the process. The renderings were high-quality, realistic, and accurate. They met our deadlines without compromising on the work and were wonderful partners. I'd highly recommend Tangram 3DS for visualization services.”
