Overview

Mumbai is one of the world’s most vulnerable cities to sea-level rise, monsoon flooding, and urban overpopulation. With over 55% of its population living in informal housing, and its infrastructure strained beyond capacity, climate resilience has become an urgent necessity.

The Rethink Mumbai Flooding competition challenged global teams to propose design-forward, future-ready solutions for flood mitigation and community resilience. Tangram 3DS was proud to be shortlisted as a finalist with the concept: Amulet of Mumbai.

Our Vision: Amulet of Mumbai

Developed in collaboration with Schopfer Associates and led by renowned architect E. Kevin Schopfer AIA/RIBA, Amulet of Mumbai proposes a floating, modular urban system built for adaptability, protection, and future growth.

The design acts as a climate amulet—a protective, regenerative space offering:

- Floating residential and civic zones
- Circular infrastructure and self-contained resource systems
- Elevated, amphibious platforms for living, commerce, and safety
- Harmony between built and natural environments

Our Role: Immersive Visualization for Unbuilt Futures

Tangram 3DS brought the Amulet of Mumbai to life through stunning, detailed 3D renderings, animation, and story-driven visuals.
